We continue with secrets three and four of how to erase years off your skin ...
Secret # 3
Keep the sun at bay.
You may love the warmth of the sun on your skin but oh how it can wreck havoc! Avoid sun exposure whenever possible and when you must be out in the sun, wear the proper SPF (number 30 is adequate for most people) and also wear a hat that shields the sun from your face. Sunglasses with SPF coating to protect your eyes are also an excellent idea for optimum sun protection.
Premature aging of the skin is a terrible consequence of too much sun exposure. Be aware that it takes many years for skin damage to show itself on the face. Too much exposure to harmful UVA and UVB rays causes the collagen and elastin in the skin to crack and shrink. This in turn causes the layer of skin to become smaller thereby making the epidermis layer of the skin droopy, wrinkly and saggy.
Constant exposure to the sun's burning rays on a long-term basis can cause premature aging of the skin, as well as freckles, wrinkles, age spots, dilated blood vessels, skin cancer and skin that looks leathery and dry and no longer has that soft, supple texture to it.
Secret # 4
Shorter and lighter for hair is best!
As a woman ages, hair that is cut shorter and is lighter in color is the most appropriate choice. To maintain a younger look, it is best to get a haircut that falls somewhere between the chin and the shoulders. Having bangs that are swept to the side gives a more youthful appearance to any woman and the shorter length will also give her the younger look she desires.
In the same way, lighter hair gives all women a more sunny appearance and can help to take years off of the face. You do not have to go platinum blonde but consider lightening up a little bit. You are better off going to a beauty salon to have this done as opposed to doing it at home (especially the first time you attempt to lighten your hair).
